Making the jump

Friends—

Draw a deep breath . . . I am transitioning from blogger to vlogger. This isn’t to say I’ve washed my hands of text, but the market indicators are overpowering. When it comes to social media, video is where it at. The problem is, its not where I am. This hadrosaur is arching his neck and wondering if that overhead curve is a learning trajectory or the path of the Chicxulub Impactor (yes, that’s the new name for the space rock that slammed into the earth a while back). To survive, dinosaurs needed to adapt, you know, learn new lessons about technology and tactics.

At the moment I have my trusty iPhone SE. It just has one lens and a cracked case, but it still works. I’ve been using it for a couple of years now to capture photographs and (rarely) a video.

But I’ve now set my jaw. I’m going to brush away the crumbs, inhale deeply, and turn that bad boy around. You can be the judge of what happens next.

Prepare yourself. It may be terrifying.

Is that the curve of technology or the curve of a six-mile wide meteorite? Source: https://www.sciencefriday.com/segments/what-really-killed-the-dinosaurs/

For starters, I’ve created a YouTube channel and a Facebook page (apart from my personal one). Both can be found using our markers, “Bible Land Explorer.” I hear there is something called Instagram too, but with a brain the size of a walnut and stubby toe-fingers that can’t manipulate the controls on my phone screen, I’m stuck.

I’m starting by posting some recent work in Egypt. If what you see has value, let me know. If you are really crazy, subscribe to this site, my YouTube station, our Facebook site, or all three! Your tips, suggestions, and criticisms are truly welcome. My kids are grown and gone and my granddaughter is still a bit young for help.

I believe that exploring the place where faith begins remains a valuable enterprise. Help this dinosaur figure out how to communicate that value to a post-Cretaceous audience.
